Compilation Update

Thank you to everyone who took the time to write up a story for the compilation and to donate to the Special Olympics!

There is a slight delay in the compilation's production. I will be spending time this evening working out a few final kinks in the presentation and formatting, and will send the compilation out tomorrow afternoon.

I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you to everyone in advance for your patience! I can say that things are coming along beautifully and I expect everyone will enjoy the compilation when it goes out!

Compilation in the works!

We've received a number of submissions for the compilation and are pleased to announce that assembly is in the works!

If you're an author and you still haven't sent us your submission, feel free to do so. We will accept late submissions up until June 8.

Donation receipts will be accepted up until 11:59PM PST on June 14, 2012. The compilation itself will be distributed on June 15, 2012. Keep spreading the word during our final days here!

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the compilation! It's wonderful to know that the fandom can continue to band together for good causes!

First Two Teasers Posted!

We're excited to announce we've received three submissions for the compilation so far and teasers for two of them are now posted on the teasers page!

As you know, the deadline for author sign-up was May 1. We have a wonderful list of contributing authors for the compilation, and we're excited to get to share all of their stories with you in a little over a month!

Teasers are due next week on May 15, so authors please make sure to get them to us if you would like one posted on the site! Final submissions are due by 11:59pm PST on June 1!

We're still working on getting new graphics displayed for the site, so thank you for your patience with that matter! :)

Thank you to all who have donated and contributed stories to this compilation! And be sure to spread the word to your friends to send in their donation receipts so they can receive a copy of the compilation!

New Graphics Coming Soon

Happy Monday! :)

In the next few days we will have new graphics coming for the blog, including a new banner and new contributing author buttons.

Until these graphics arrive, we are asking that contributing authors and anyone using our banner please remove the images from your websites or blogs. Feel free to keep your posts up and we will post an update as soon as the new graphics arrive.

We'd also like to take this time to let everyone know that @Frankielynn_r has volunteered to act as a pre-reader for all of our contributing authors. I did a little asking of her, because I had no idea what a pre-reader was (go figure!), and it appears that pre-readers are here to offer creative advice and give their opinion on the creative content of the story. So, it's not beta servicing where you get edits and all that jazz, but more like having someone to bounce your plot lines, character development, etc. etc. off of. (Frankie, if I'm wrong, please correct me. :)) Shoot her a line on Twitter if you're interested in having anything pre-read.

So far, fans have contributed $135 towards the Special Olympics! We'd like to take this time to thank everyone who has donated and who is contributing a piece of writing to the compilation, and to everyone who has pimped the compilation on Twitter, blogged about it on their site, etc. etc. Please continue to spread the word - Our goal is raise $1,000 in donations for the Special Olympics by June 14, 2012!

We're happy to announce that Sparkly Red Pen has offered their beta services for authors submitting O/S pieces to the compilation! Authors can visit their page and fill out the Event One-Shot Application to submit their work for review!

Spread the word to your friends and fellow fic readers! We'll be accepting author submissions until June 1, 2012, so there's plenty of time to sign up! Donations will be accepted through June 14, 2012.

Project Team Beta is available to help authors with all their beta needs! The site does request that authors submit a Story Application at least three weeks before the deadline, and once accepted, to send in your story at least 1.5 - 2 weeks before the deadline.

TwiFicPics has a collection of artists available to make banners for submissions. There is a forum where you can request banners and a banner adoption center where you can adopt pre-made banners.

Twisted Banners is available to make banners for submissions. Please visit her website to submit a request for a banner or send her a tweet - @TwistedIn_

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the site for the Fandoms 4 Special Olympics fiction compilation!

We are currently ironing out the details for the compilation and should have everything ready by the end of next week. In the meantime, feel free to check out the site, but please be aware that the deadlines aren't finalized at this time.

You can still sign up to contribute as an author if you'd like. Finalized deadlines should be posted by March 9.

Thanks for checking out the site and thanks for considering writing or donating to the cause! We hope to reach our goal and help bring awareness to this incredible organization!
